My design Style is
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so aesthetics and design style have always been a bit of a growing and changing thing to me. If I am designing for myself- I’m sentimental so it has to be eclectic, I like clean lines so maybe a percentage modern, I like to be cozy so there must be a mix of textures, and after all I was an art student so there should be a pop of color somewhere. If I’m designing for someone else… I keep it about the functionality of the space first and then ask a whole bunch of questions to figure out your specific aesthetic.
My design philosophy is
Form follows function! I like to keep a critical eye when designing and planning a space. A room can be stunning to the eye but if it isn’t easy to move through and perform daily activities in with ease, then to me it’s a failure. Aesthetics are the cherry on top!
Fun Fact about me
When I have free time, I like to work on DIY home projects. My design background has helped me learn how to construct my own furniture, build my own shelving, and sew my own window treatments… If I can do it myself, I am likely to try. I can’t stop the design wheels from turning in my mind!
I love E-design because
I have worked from home for the last 6 years. While being able to see people face to face is always a fun treat - being able to work with and meet people from all over the country has opened a lot of doors to new experiences. It makes the process a whole lot faster and barrier free!
